![]() ![]() There have been plenty of times that I couldn't afford a loaf of bread. A few pennies per hour, for every hour that the computer runs each day, over the course of a month would buy a loaf of bread at least. But it's all relative, isn't it? Aside from the fact that if the couple billion people with computers changed all their screen-"savers" to screen-blankers, the electricity saved would be rather substantial - and the fact that a lot of electricity is still produced by destroying finite resources. Last edited by MountainDewManiac ( 16:47:30)Īnd I really doubt that your monitor is using more than a few pennies worth of energy per hour. Is there a FAQ or How-to stating the steps people need to take to make all this go away and bring back the simple and functional previous "blank screen when not doing anything, but don't blank it when watching videos (even if the user CBA to wiggle the mouse cursor every few minutes) - and lose the pretty little time-wasters?" Not knowing what to do, I click on Cancel and then close the Screensaver Preferences box. Stop the GNOME screen saver daemon now?" and it has two buttons, Cancel and OK(sic). It must be stopped for XScreenSaver to work properly. When I click on that, I get a box titled "Screensaver Preferences (XScreenSaver 5.15, 2)" - in addition to this box, I get another box on top of that one that states "Warning: The GNOME screensaver daemon appears to be running. I looked and the only thing I found in the menu that mentioned screen-saver was /Settings/Screensaver. I wanted to put everything back to the way it was when it worked right. Worse, it even does it while viewing a video in fullscreen. Now, instead of my screen simply blanking, it does one of those animated screen-"saver" electricity-waster gizmos. When viewing a fullscreen video in VLC, the screen did not blank (I'm almost certain) - which was also fine. Everything is fine except that I seem to now have.īefore, after a few minutes of inactivity, the computer's screen blanked. I accepted them a couple days ago ( EDIT: I think they were from the Xfce 4.10 PPA. Another version is called Marine Aquarium and another is called Dory Loves Corals. There were some new updates in my update manager. It is called Coral Garden and is our best aquarium screensaver with millions of views on YouTube. We now have a 4K video and Windows 10 screensaver of this fish tank. Update for this marine aquarium screensaver: The sounds are relaxing, the fish are colorful and we filmed it extra wide to make it more of a cinematic aquarium, plus we got to fit more of it into the video. It automatically loops every 3 minutes until you touch your computer again. Note: Microsoft still called screensavers “screen savers” which may help when search for it on your laptop or PC. ![]() ![]() The screensaver works like others and will show in your list of Windows 10 Screensavers. Thanks to us filming it a few times, they can still enjoy it as they have moved house. It was inspired by Finding Nemo and the owner’s kids loved it. Widescreen Marine is one of our early aquarium screensaver videos and one that we actually owned. ![]() Marine aquarium screensaver for Windows 10 PCs and Laptops As always, when you buy this download you will receive a 20 minute MP4 video which you can loop on your TV screens, plus a screensaver for your computers and laptops. This time the focus is not on the clownfish, instead you get a wide angle shot featuring more of the beautiful live corals. This is the same tank which was filmed in the recent Finding Nemo Screensaver. There is something very calming about this video the colourful marine fish swim along peacefully and the coral shimmers with reflections from the top of the aquarium. The black bars across the top and bottom of the video allow for a wider angle which makes this a rather unique download option. This widescreen aquarium video and screen saver was shot wider for a cinematic effect. ![]()
